Deconstructing A Majestic Mind Safari Show is the latest mutation applied by Slon to Slon. A live show in which the different levels of the previous work unfold without masks, to enter the microscopic photosynthesis mechanisms of a shapeshifter. A live representation of the meticulous compositional methodology in which layering, the power of memory and the impulse to harmonize become vital
creative principles. Slon composes one layer after another, continuously muting the previous recordings.
Once this ‘blind’ procedure is completed, all of the layers are combined to reveal an elaborate, intricate, multidimensional final piece. A on-off-layering process. Relying on the brain’s memory and the natural need of harmonizing, one layer after another is composed and then muted, all to one same click. Once the blind processing comes to an end, all of the layers are turned on to reveal a dense-multi-layered-tho’- suspended-music.
